The Critical-Film.com Social Network

First of all I'd like to extend a few thanks to some friends of Critical-Film.com.

First, George Clarke (director of "Battle of the Bone"), who we met at last year's Freakshow Film Festival. George has been busy as hell working on a number of projects, and promoting the first annual Yellow Fever International Film Festival in Northern Ireland this August. George recently did an article for Culture Northern Ireland and was kind enough to mention our modest little site in his article. George is one of the most slefless people I've ever met, and I'd just like to extend a public thank you, and let everyone know that we here at Critical-Film appreciate his efforts in making us a better website.

Second, Josh Darling (director of "Death is a Very Long Time"), who has been more than kind enough in the past months to not only provide us with ideas on how to improve the site, including making commercials to stream over the internet (which we are in fact doing, and one such commercial will play between films at this year's Freakshow Film Festival). Josh has also recently become a contributor to the review content of Critical-Film.com writing up a review for "Underworld: Rise of the Lycans" recently. Thank you Josh for all your hard work, and Critical-Film.com is a better place and will continue to improve thanks to your input and efforts.

OK, with the thank you's out of the way, a little personal info. First, as mentioned we are shooting a number of commercials for the site which will play at various sites across the internet, and at festivals in which we are lucky enough to be the sponsors. I'll do my best to keep everyone posted as to the progress of these commercials.

I've also began working on a new script. The previous project which had hoped to launch this summer, is temporarily on the back-burner. "Four Letter Word" is a project that Scott and I have been working on for years, and it still has tremendous potential, yet it needs some serious work in order to retain the original theme and context that we had intended. The film certainly needs a change, and we will most definitely get to it, however both Scott and myself have individual projects that we will continue to work on.

My script is still in development, and is another collaborative work, with a friend and fellow debater of both philosophy and existentialism. I can't reveal too much in the way of details, but the story is nearly complete, and the script shouldn't be too far behind. A short film that will both test my capabilities in nearly every department of film making, as well as test the audience's capacity for thinking out of the box. It's going to be a fun project at the very least, and I honestly haven't been so excited about a script in a long time.

More to come,

JP
