First of all I'd like to thank Wesley Dugle, who's been kind enough to post his reviews to Critical-Film.com, two reviews so far, Terminator Salvation, and X-Men Origins: Wolverine. It's great for me because it gives me a little more time to rework the site from head to toe (a pretty big project, that's probably going to take me a few more weeks to finish). It's necessary though, the site, when all is said and done, should be more visitor friendly, search engine friendly, and allow for more easily organizable content.
That being said, we're always looking for reviewers, so if you're looking to promote your blog, or just looking to get some reviews out to other internet users that perhaps aren't acquainted with your blog, let me know, because you can never have too much content, or exposure.
Thirdly, I've only been back into this mySpace thing for a short while now, but we've already started receiving short films from some film makers here on mySpace, so thank you guys, and if anyone else out there is looking for free promotion for their films, let me know, we can get you reviews and similar things to get the promotional ball rolling for you. That's what Critical-Film.com is really about - Independent film promotion.
That brings me to one last interesting thing that happened to me today:
A while back I wrote a review for Dire Wit Films' "Isle of the Damned" which I gave a very positive 4/5 Star review. Now, when writing my review I checked the old MRQE to see how many other reviews I'd be up against as far as exposure from that particular database.
As of now there are only two reviews on the MRQE, mine (4/5), and a reviewer named James Teitelbaum from Film Threat (0/5). Two drastically different reviews indeed. Anyway, I read his review and felt his comments were unjustified, and made mention of it in my review, saying his review was hypocritical. Anyway, he responded on our forum (below the review) on the
review page. (At least I think it was him, the poster identified himself as simply j t), Anyway, Here's
his review. I'd like anyone's thoughts on the matter.
I have retracted my statement that his comments were hypocritical, but as always stand by my own thoughts and review. I sure do love negative publicity.
