Text follows Sarah Madison and her three friends as they track down a series of mysterious text messages that are killing students at their high school. Sarah, played by Hanna Hall, is the defacto leader of the group...the one everybody follows. Parker, a Mormon now facing an internal battle between his beliefs and his affection for Sarah, stands by her side, trying to protect her at every turn. Fizz, the burnout who loves music and skateboarding, finds unconditional friendship in this eclectic group, although they all appear a little to straight laced for him....but only at first glance. Danny, the sexy, outgoing one of the bunch, secretly harbors feelings for Fizz, but denies them at every turn.

Set in the fictional town of Pinewood, the predominant action in the story takes place at Pinewood High School and the local shops on Mainstreet where most of the gang works.
