Films I Wouldn't Have Paid to See... But Saw Anyway

This originally started by way of a review by Josh Darling (Friend of Critical-Film.com and film maker). His review of "Underworld 3" will be posted shortly, and obviously, given the subject of this particular forum, he didn't think very highly of it, coming up with all sorts of negative comments, and even likening it to the career of Miley Cyrus (Yeah, well you'll just have to wait and read the review to find that one out...)

Anyway, I'm sure there's a number of suggestions out there, as people always seem to be disappointed in one film or another. So, what movie have you seen, recently or not, that you wouldn't have paid money to.

Or, even worse, were infuriated because you did pay money, and felt you'd personally handed money over to someone to, in effect, make you stupider...

Twilight, High School Musical, Napolean Dynamite, The Excorcist.

After reading over this, I now realize I need a new set of friends.

Not a fan of "The Exorcist", eh?

After this I think we should start another forum... "Movies I Wouldn't Pay to See... And Didn't" - My list starts with "Twilight", and "High School Musical."

Nop.

I mean don't get me wrong, it was a good movie in terms of Editing, Directing, and alot of creativity. But if I had known what kind of horribly sickening deranged movie I was about to get in to, I would have stayed home. I mean I'm all for horror movies, and I'm all for making them quality, but that just pushed the limit for me. The "LICK ME!!!" scene being a prime example of: "why on earth did I have to see that...." It was good in other parts though, the first half hour where she goes from being a normal girl into being partially possessed by Pazuzu was considered boring by my friends, but I thought it was interesting how they were setting everything up. And yes I know that this was all William Peter Blatty's/William Friedkin's vision of what the Excorcist was, but what it was, and is, is not my cuppa tea.

Also, another one that really gets on my nerves is Godzilla(1998) As an avid Godzilla fan, that totally destroyed the name, untill Godzilla 2000 of course. I like to put the whole movie and experience of watching it behind me. Though it really irritates me when people question my obsession for Godzilla/Kaiju, when they solely believe that the American Godzilla is the original(even though theres thousands of references to Godzilla when Japan is involved with something on their several television programs). But thats just the fanboy inside of me talking, I actually thought it was an OK monster movie, but its no where near Gojira/Godzilla.

My list for that second thing start with: Most of the "Movie" Franchise (epic movie, superhero movie, dance flick, etc), Any of the Will Ferrel Sports films(actualy any of will ferrels movies of the 2000's except ELF and Stranger Than Fiction), and of course Hannah Montanna The Motion Picture (call me crazy for not liking it ;P)

Ugh. I watched the '98 Godzilla for the first time (start to finish) a few weeks ago, and I remember thinking, "What kind of JUNK is this?!" Sure, the acting was bad in the old Japanese movies...but at least there was a reason for that. And this movie didn't portray Godzilla as a monster. More like a pregnant bitch who was mood swinging. Terrible. Just terrible.

It took you 10 years to see the American "Godzilla"? What the hell is wrong with you... That was a pretty big movie. Actually I'm being completely facetious, because deep down, I understand that your life would actually be more complete had you not seen that movie for another ten years... It's like a tiny bit of your soul was sucked from your body. Oh... I'm tearing up.

All in all though... Godzilla pretty much rules, especially rubber-suit-zilla.

Godzilla totally rules. I can't wait for Godzilla 3D to the Max....whenever they decide to finally release it.

Speaking of G.I.N.O (godzilla in name only) I think its safe to add another movie to my list of "Films I Wouldn't Have Paid To See... And Didnt" that would be the new '2012' movie coming out this november, not only do I think Roland Emmerich's films are complete crap, whilst some are entertaining at points, but I think these 2012 conspiracies are all a load of crap. So therefore I know I won't see this movie, it contains 2 of my greatest pet peeves, the top one would be people kicking my chair whilst I watched it.

Took me right out of Public Enemies >:( (which was awesome btw)

I don't mena to sound totally ignorant but who in theire right mind couldn't think that Godzilla is a Japanesse invention... I however feel really offended by the symbolisum of Godzilla remake... In the original I giant atomic dinosuar ries up out of the East (from the direction of America) and stopms on Japan, which is what us dinosaurs did...

Then Sony pictures brings that dinosuar from the pascific ocean around to the other side to come and stomp on New York. Incidently the worls is supposed to end according to in Inca's in 2012 and I heard it's Godzilla who's supposed to it. Kumpie!
